For a B.S., 8 credits in one language; for a B.A., 16 credits in one language or 14 credits in one and 8 in a second. High school coursework may fulfill the requirement, but credit is not given unless the student wishes to attempt retroactive credit; see college catalog for policies. Students for whom English is a second language satisfy the requirement by successful completion of the writing sequence.
II. FOUNDATIONS OF HUMAN LEARNING

apprec. of art, or music or theater/film (min.3 cr.)

and/or physical science, including experimental
study (min. 6 cr. including laboratory)
___ ___ F6 coursework in history -- Western (studies in American history,
Western European history, Western Civilization) and
non-Western history (studies in Middle Eastern European, African
and East Asian History) is required. Courses in world history, world issues and
global cultural geography may be approved to fulfill both requirements when
those courses include study of both Western and non-Western culture and history.
